5 Impaired Drivers Arrested In 5 Days In Solon
Police made multiple arrests for impaired driving on Feb. 25 and Feb. 27.

SOLON, OH — Solon Police were busy during the last full week of February. Officers made five impaired driving arrests in five days, including a pair of arrests on Feb. 25 and Feb. 27, respectively. Learn more about each arrest and incident below.
The first arrest happened Feb. 23. Police saw a car on Richmond Road weaving and drifting left of center. Officers pulled the car over and determined the driver was impaired. The 38-year-old Glenwillow man behind the wheel was arrested.
Police found an open container of alcohol in the car and a loaded handgun. There was also marijuana paraphernalia in the vehicle. The 38-year-old refused to take a breath test and has been charged with operating a vehicle impaired, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lanes, open container in a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.

The second arrest happened Feb. 25, when a 62-year-old Reminderville woman was stopped by police near the Burger King on Aurora Road. The woman was reportedly driving erratically. Police said they saw the woman's car weaving in and out of its lane. The driver had signs of impairment and was arrested. She took a breath test and blew a .202. She's charged with operating a vehicle impaired, prohibited BAC and failure to maintain lanes.
Also on Feb. 25, a 42-year-old North Ridgeville man was arrested for operating a vehicle impaired. Officers saw the man weaving and noted other signs of impairment when they spoke to him. The man was arrested and he took a breath test, blowing a .124. Besides OVI, the man has also been charged with prohibited BAC and failure to maintain marked lanes.

Finally, two impaired driving arrests were made on Feb. 27. The first took place early in the morning, at about 1:30 a.m. A 27-year-old Parma woman was stopped after she couldn't stay in her lane. Officers said they smelled marijuana from the car and noted other signs that the woman was impaired.
The driver was arrested. Police found a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia in the car. The woman took a breath test, blowing a .124. She has been charged with operating a vehicle impaired, prohibited BAC, failure to maintain lanes, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Then, at about 8:30 p.m., police stopped a car near SR 91. The driver, a 49-year-old Cleveland man, appeared to be intoxicated. Police saw the man run a red light and decided to stop his car.
There were "numerous indications" the driver was impaired, police said. The 49-year-old was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. He took a breath test, blowing a .080. He has been charged with operating a vehicle impaired, prohibited BAC and red light violations.
