Agilysys Inc. Moving Headquarters from Solon to Georgia

The IT company announced the move on its website today

Information technology company Agilysys Inc. announced today that the company will move its headquarters from Solon to Georgia in the next year, taking an undisclosed number of jobs with it.

The move, announced on the company's website, is part of the company's restructuring plan, allowing the headquarters to be closer to the company's other operating divisions in Georgia and South Carolina. The company's new headquarters will be in Alpharetta, GA.

β€œA major theme of the ongoing restructuring is to tighten our cost controls and better align corporate functions with our operating businesses," saidΒ James Dennedy, the company's interim president and CEO, on the company's website.

Agilysys headquarters is located atΒ 28925 Fountain Parkway.

The announcement – included in a year-end financial document – does not specify how many jobs will be leaving Solon. The company reportedly had 200 workers at its headquarters in 2008, according to Crain's Cleveland Business.

Peggy Weil Dorfman, Solon's manager of economic development, said she had just learned that Agilysys is leaving and she was trying to get in touch with company officials to talk about it.

Solon Patch has contacted Agilysys for comment but has not yet heard back.

This is the second Solon-based company in recent weeks to announce it was leaving. announced it will leave its Solon headquarters for China.

Ward 7 Councilman Bill Russo said Agilysys had left Solon once before and then came back.Β 

"I think realizing the past history with this company, the thought that they would move is disappointing but not surprising," he said.
