Police say the suspects fled through Solon at over 115 mph before crashing on I-480; one man is jailed in Solon on a $100,000 bond while the injured passenger faces expected charges.
• Solon man loses large sum after scammer tells him he neglected to show up for jury duty (cleveland.com) — A 59-year-old Solon man lost $24,000 after scammers posing as federal court deputies convinced him he'd missed jury duty and needed to pay bonds to avoid arrest. Following their instructions, he withdrew cash locally and fed it into a Rockside Road cryptocurrency ATM linked to the fraudsters, prompting a police investigation and a cautionary tale for other residents.
• Fired worker, 17, takes swing at his Taco Bell manager: Solon Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Solon police recently handled a series of incidents, including a fired 17-year-old Taco Bell worker accused of striking his manager, a domestic violence arrest, and a theft of $4,000 in jewelry from a Solon woman's home. Officers also seized suspected drugs during a traffic stop and arrested a Twinsburg driver on OVI and failure-to-comply charges after a slow-then-speeding pursuit through Solon streets.
