Attendees used "passports" to visit tables, sample classes like Zumba and Tai Chi, and even enter a raffle for center credits, making it easy for both longtime and new residents to plug into local programs.

2. Maya's Way hosts summer learning and career exploration program (chagrinvalleytoday.com) â A Solon-based nonprofit, Maya's Way, just wrapped up its first Ready to Learn Academy, a six-week summer program helping middle and high school students build skills and explore careers from home. Fifty students nationwide participated, completing hundreds of short challenges and earning scholarships and SAT prep prizes, and the group plans to offer the program again next summer along with year-round activities in Solon.

3. 2 suspects indicted in connection with Solon robbery during Facebook Marketplace sale to face judge (cleveland19.com) â Two Cleveland men are set to be arraigned after Solon police say a Facebook Marketplace test drive on Hampton Court turned into an armed robbery and high-speed chase. The suspects allegedly stole a 2015 Chevy Impala, fled along SOM Center Road and US 422, and crashed on I-480, injuring a Brook Park woman with non-life-threatening injuries.

4. Severe storms hit Northeast Ohio with a larger, more dangerous cluster still approaching (cleveland.com subscription) â Solon is under a severe thunderstorm warning this afternoon and evening as multiple dangerous storm cells sweep across Northeast Ohio, bringing 60â70 mph winds, torrential rain, lightning and possible power outages. Residents are urged to move to interior rooms, avoid flooded roads, and have multiple ways to receive warnings as a larger storm cluster moves in during the 4â9 p.m. window.

5. Cuyahoga County tax auction: 93% of properties in Cleveland, East Cleveland (cleveland.com) â Cuyahoga County's upcoming tax-forfeited property auction is dominated by Cleveland and East Cleveland parcels, but Solon has two properties on the block that local investors or residents may want to research. The three-day sale at the Huntington Convention Center starts at 9:30 a.m. daily, and officials urge buyers to investigate each property's condition and local code status beforehand.
