This is what police said happened on Jan. 21. The carjacking took place at about 3:15 p.m. on Longview Drive. A 36-year-old Garfield Heights man was driving a Dodge Ram Promaster cargo van and delivering packages for Amazon. He was in the process of dropping off a package at a home, leaving his van running in the driveway, when he saw two cars pull up on the street and then a man got out and started running at him.
The suspect wore a black hood, mask and had a black semi-automatic handgun. The delivery van driver ran away, booking it north on Longview, away from the suspect, and then hid behind a home. The man's van, and all of its contents, were stolen.
