Best Places List: Solon Residents' Bee-Based Business Featured on CNN

Solon residents Dave and Amy Rzepka already had buzz surrounding Beecology, their line of honey- and beeswax-based bath and beauty products.

Now, after their home-based business was featured in a video on CNN as part of the 2011 "Best Places to Live" List, the buzz is likely becoming a roar.

In the video, the Rzepka's explain the accidental creation of their business and talk about why they chose Solon as home. A major factor was the great schools.

"We had always known Solon had fantastic schools," Dave Rzepka said. "That was our main concern, was where we were going to put our kids in school."

Amy Rzepka said there were other reasons for choosing Solon.

"We chose Solon because of the great community and also because we were able to get land here, so that we were able to plant a garden and have a place for our bees," she said.

Solon was named on the list, news that has government and business leaders and regular residents celebrating.
