Bites Nearby Favorite: Chicago Deli & Restaurant Knows Good Food

Back in February we told you about Chicago Deli & Restaurant. We decided to go back through some of our favorite Bites Nearby reviews, to make sure you know of the best places in the area to eat.

Chicago Deli is easy to miss, but boy, you'll regret it if you do. Tucked away in the corner of the Solar Shopping Center at Aurora Road and SOM Center, it is easy to find if you follow the delicious aromas.

According to the deli's website, the deli was started in 1981 by George Hamway who promised to "serve great food at reasonable prices in a friendly and clean atmosphere." 

The menu is huge, plus there are many daily specials. They serve everything from classic breakfast fare to stacked deli sandwiches to homemade favorites such as potato pancakes and open-faced beef and turkey sandwiches. There's also Mediterranean specialties, from hummus to baba ghanouj.

This is a friendly place for adults as well as kids. The cozy tables and friendly wait staff make you feel at home. Chicago Deli is open seven days. They also provide catering service and sell olive oil imported from Lebanon billed as "the best you'll ever taste." 

Prices: Most everything can be had for less than $10, but some dinner entrees are about $13.
