Break-In At Solon Camera Store, Front Door Smashed

Police said someone smashed the glass door to Dodd Camera and stole merchandise from the store.

SOLON, OH — Someone smashed the front door of Dodd Camera and stole items from the store this month, according to Solon police records obtained by Patch.

On June 7, an alarm was triggered at the Aurora Road store around 3:30 a.m. When police arrived, the front door, which is made of glass, had been destroyed. It appeared to officers that items had been taken from the store.

The owner of Dodd Camera is compiling a list of missing items for police. The Solon Detective Bureau is handling the investigation.

Police said there was no usable surveillance footage from inside the store.

There was a second possible break-in that happened in Solon this month. On June 10, a resident on Monroe Court reported that someone had broken into their home and stolen $20,000 of property, including a necklace, a laptop, nine pairs of shoes and more.

Police said there was no sign of forced entry at the house. The break-in is believed to have occurred between 3 p.m. and midnight on June 10.
