Car Chase Speeds Through Solon: Police
A driver managed to avoid police for a short while, according to police records.

SOLON, OH — A driver with a suspended license and expired plates eluded Solon police during a car chase on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Solon police, at about 1:40 p.m., an officer on patrol ran a registration check on a car on Cochran Road. The license plate was expired and the registered owner of the car had a suspended driver's license.
The officer tried to pull the car over, but the car sped up and tried to outrun police. The officer gave chase.

The pursuit sped south down Cochran Road until the car with expired plates drove left of center, passing another vehicle and then running a red light on Carter Street. Solon police decided to call of the chase to ensure the safety of other driver.
The pursued car was last seen heading into Glenwillow Village.

A Glenwillow police officer located the car at a business in the village and took the driver into custody. The driver, a 21-year-old from Warrensville Heights, had a small amount of marijuana in his vehicle, police said. He is being charged with fleeing and eluding, speeding, driving under suspension, expired plates and drug possession.
