Car Chase Through Solon Ends With Suspect Escaping
Police chased a Kia Soul through Solon and into Bedford Heights but ended the pursuit shortly after the Kia hit another car.

SOLON, OH — An unidentified person led police on a car chase this month, avoiding officers that attempted to pull them over. Despite being involved in a car accident during the pursuit, police have not yet been able to determine who was driving the suspect vehicle.
The incident started at about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 13. An off-duty Solon cop was working at a construction zone near Cochran and Solon roads. The officer saw a black Kia Soul drive through the construction zone, ignoring the direction of traffic control.
The officer called in the incident and said the Soul was going north on Cochran and speeding up. A Solon officer then caught up to and attempted to stop the vehicle.

Instead of pulling over, the Soul sped up, ran a red light and drove west onto Aurora Road.
The pursuing officer continued to try and stop the Soul as the chase continued into Bedford Heights.

The Kia hit another car near the Aurora and Rockside roads intersection. Despite the collision, the Soul kept moving, refusing to stop.
Police terminated their pursuit shortly thereafter. There were no injuries caused during the car chase.
The detective bureau is continuing to investigate the incident to determine who the driver of the Kia Soul may have been.
