Church Broken Into In Solon, Pastor Threatened
A 60-year-old man on parole for safecracking and burglary was discovered inside the church on Sunday morning.

SOLON, OH — The pastor at St. John's Byzantine Church got quite a surprise on Sunday morning. When he entered his church at about 10:10 a.m., he found a 60-year-old man inside the building. It wasn't clear why the man was there.
The pastor confronted the 60-year-old, but the man told the pastor he only wanted to use the church's phone. When the pastor appeared unsure about sharing a phone with the man, threats started flying, according to Solon Police records.
While allegedly threatening the pastor, the 60-year-old apparently knocked the phone out of the pastor's hand. The pastor recovered the phone and called the police.
