Cocaine, Heroin Found On Shoplifter: Solon Police
Police were called to Market District after a man tried to steal $385 of merchandise, according to records. They found narcotics on the man.
SOLON, OH — Police found cocaine and heroin on a suspected shoplifter this week in Solon. The man also tried to steal $385 worth of groceries, police said.
At 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, callers told police a shoplifter was being detained at Market District. Witnesses told officers the shoplifter, a 55-year-old homeless man, was seen pushing a full cart out of the store. He did not pay for any of the merchandise, witnesses said.
When investigators spoke with the man, he told them he had tried to shoplift the merchandise, according to police records.

Before taking the man to Solon City Jail, officers searched him and found a package in his pocket with a white powder inside. The man told officers it was cocaine, according to police.
Officers then found a fold of paper in the brim of the man's hat. Inside the paper was a brown substance which later tested positive for heroin, according to Solon police records.

The man faces possible charges for theft and drug abuse, police said.
