Construction Zone Crash In Solon, Suspect Had Open Wine Bottles
Police said they found four open bottles of wine in a car that caused a crash on Aurora Road.
SOLON, OH — A Brecksville woman is accused of causing a crash in a construction zone and then leaving the scene of the accident. Police said they found four open bottles of wine in the woman's car when they caught her.
The accident happened at about 9:15 a.m. on April 19. Police were sent to the scene and learned the striking car had driven behind a nearby building on Aurora Road.
Officers pulled into the parking lot of the building and saw a car with what appeared to be damage on its front end. The car began to pull out of the parking lot but was stopped when a second police cruiser blocked its way.

Caught between two police cruisers, the car began to back-up, nearly striking the cruiser parked behind the car, police said. The driver then stopped her vehicle and got out.
The driver, a 37-year-old Brecksville woman, could not tell police where she was coming from. When asked what happened, the woman claimed, “It was bad, bad, bad," according to Solon police.

The driver denied drinking or doing drugs. She eventually told police she was from Brecksville and was going back to Brecksville. She was placed into the back of a police cruiser and officers then noticed a slight odor of alcohol.
Officers searched the woman's car and found four open bottles of wine. The driver was taken to the hospital after she complained of being hurt in the crash. A urine sample was taken at the hospital and was sent for analysis.
