Convenience Store Broken Into, Safe Stolen, Solon Police Say

Someone smashed the glass front door of D&M Convenience Food Mart, went inside and snatched cash and a safe.

SOLON, OH — Someone smashed the glass front door of the D&M Convenience Food Mart and stole cash and a safe from the store, Solon police said.

The breaking and entering was discovered a little before 7 a.m. on Jan. 18. The owner of the Aurora Road store arrived at his business and found the front door smashed. Cash and a safe, with more cash and lottery tickets inside, was stolen.

Police said the business had been open until 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 17, meaning the theft occurred between the closing of the business at 7 a.m. the next day.

The detective bureau responded to the scene and is continuing to investigate what happened, police said.
