Coronavirus Update: Solon Students Have No Symptoms

The Solon Schools said two students who have self-quarantined have developed no signs of illness.

SOLON, OH — Two Solon High students are in self-quarantine after interacting with a person who has the new coronavirus. The students have yet to develop any symptoms and are in good health, school district officials said Tuesday night.

Fred Bolden, Solon Schools' superintendent pro tempore, wrote a letter to families on Tuesday night to update them on the situation. He said the district would not close schools, unless guidance from the state changed.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Gov. Mike DeWine said public schools, teaching grades K-12, should not close at this time. He said that recommendation may change in the future, depending on the spread of the coronavirus, called COVID-19.
