Crack Cocaine, Weed Found During Traffic Stop In Solon

Police said one arrested person brought drugs with them into detention.

SOLON, OH — Crack cocaine and marijuana were found in a vehicle stopped on SR 91 last week. The driver and a passenger were both arrested for drug charges, including bringing narcotics into a jail.

Officers saw a car with expired license plates on SR 91, near Solon Road, at about 8:15 p.m. on August 4. They stopped the car and spoke with the driver.

The driver, a 19-year-old from Cleveland, had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest with the Geauga County Sheriff's Office. There was also a bag of marijuana on the floor behind his driver's seat.

The driver was arrested and is being charged with drug abuse and expired plates. Police then searched the teenager's car and found a baggie of crack cocaine.

An 18-year-old passenger was also arrested. She was charged with drug abuse and possession of cocaine. Before the night was over, the teenager tried to bring narcotics into a jail cell, which led to her also being charged with illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility, police said.
