Criminals Flee Solon Police Twice In Past Week
Even though they escaped police, both suspects have been identified and have had arrest warrants issued in their name.

SOLON, OH — Two different sets of criminals tried to elude Solon Police over the past two weeks. One suspect fled on foot from officers, the other drove off.
The first incident took place on June 8 at the Park East Apartments. Callers reported a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. When officers arrived at the scene they found a car idling in a spot, its lights on, and three men inside.
As officers approached the car, the driver jumped out and ran. With the door open, the smell of burnt marijuana wafted out. The officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the car.

The two men that stayed in the car were written up. Rodney Stewart, 20 of Solon, was issued misdemeanor citations for drug abuse and possession of paraphernalia. Michael Jeffery, 19 of University Heights, was issued a misdemeanor citation for drug abuse.
An arrest warrant was issued for the driver that ran, Brandon Davis, 20 of Solon. The warrant is for obstructing official business, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. He is also wanted by Garfield Heights PD, Sheffield PD, and Solon has warrants for his arrest from previous encounters.

The second incident took place on June 12. An officer on patrol was at the intersection of SR 43 and SR 91 when he was nearly struck by a car. The vehicle that nearly hit the officer was involved in a pursuit in Bedford Heights.
The officer tried to stop the vehicle and instead of pulling over, the car sped up and fled. The officer gave chase for a short distance before stopping his pursuit because of traffic conditions.
However, the officer was able to clearly the driver and his passenger when they nearly struck him. The officer later identified the driver through a BMV photo.
An arrest warrant for fleeing and eluding has been issued for Robert Cheatham, 26, of Massillon.
