Custom License Plates Offer Chance To Display Solon Pride

SOLON, OH — There's a new way to display your civic pride. The Solon Schools can purchase specialized license plates that display the district logo and Solon Comets. They're available now through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).

The custom plates cost $40 above the annual auto registration fee. Most of that money will be directed to the school district. Each purchase sees $30 directed to the schools for use in programming that supports mental health and well-being of students.

Buying one of the new license plates will also get you the right to customize the letters the plate displays. Customers can choose from a combination of six letters and numbers, but the BMV recommends having up to four choices in mind.

The plates are listed on the BMV website under Organizational Specialized Interest Plates.
