Driver Falls Asleep Behind Wheel In Solon, Drugs Suspected

Police arrested a 36-year-old after he passed out in his car, with his foot on the brake. Two bags of white powder were found on his person.

SOLON, OH — Police arrested a 36-year-old Maple Heights man after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his car. The man may faces charges for having two bags of white powder that police are having tested by a lab.

At about 2 a.m. on Feb. 13, numerous callers phoned police and said there was a driver asleep behind the wheel of his car on Miles Road, near the Miles Farmers Market. That driver turned out to be Michael Bourn, according to police records.

When officers arrived on the scene they were able to wake Bourn up. The car the 36-year-old was in was not in park. Instead, the Maple Heights man had fallen asleep with his foot on the brake.

After being woken up, police said Bourn was lethargic and confused. There was multiple signs that he was impaired, records indicate.

So officers arrested the 36-year-old. He was taken to Solon Jail where police found two bags of white powder, one in Bourn's mouth and another in his pants pocket.

Bourn took a breath test and blew a .002. He also provided a urine sample for lab examination.

The Maple Heights resident is currently facing charges for operating a vehicle impaired, driving under suspension, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, felony 5 drug possession and felony 3 drug conveyance. Additional charges could be coming and would be based on lab results, police said.
