Driver Falls Asleep At Wheel On Bainbridge Road In Solon
Police said the man smelled of alcohol and fell asleep with his car running.
SOLON, OH — A 35-year-old man was found asleep behind the wheel of his car last Friday in Solon. The car was running and parked on Bainbridge Road at 6 p.m., according to Solon police records.
A little before 6 p.m., callers reported a man who appeared to be asleep at the wheel at a traffic light on Bainbridge. When police arrived, they found the car stopped at the light, in gear, with its engine running.
The driver was asleep, music was blaring and there was a smell of alcohol wafting from the car, police said. Officers had to rouse the driver to talk to him.

The driver said he had been drinking, police noted. He was then asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which indicated he was impaired, police said. He was taken into custody and taken to Solon Corrections Center.
At the jail, the 35-year-old refused to take a breath test.
