Drumming, Dance and Storytelling Heat Up Solon Library
Karamu House performers encourage participation at Solon Library event
Call:"Ago!"
Response: "Ame!"
Those were the first words learned in the community room in Solon Public Library as the Karamu House performers took the floor. Talise, Timothy and Yvetta captured the audience by introducing them to songs, stories and dance from West Africa. Infants danced in their parents' arms, kids yelled on cue and everyone smiled. With dance, call and response the evening ended with the message: "Peace, love and respect for everybody."
