Drunk Driver Nearly Hits Solon Cop Car

The driver also almost took out a mailbox near SR 43. When police pulled her over, she parked her car in a patch of grass.

SOLON, OH — An allegedly drunk driver nearly hit a police cruiser, then a mailbox, while driving on SR 43, police said. The driver was quickly arrested and taken to Solon Jail.

Police said they spotted a car drifting left of center on SR 43 east, a little after midnight on August 11. The car drifted so far that it nearly hit an oncoming police car that had been driving west. The driver then pulled her car to the north side of SR 43, nearly hitting a mailbox. Her car finally came to a rest in the grass, police said.

An officer saw the vehicle and approached the driver. The woman behind the steering wheel was a 39-year-old from Reminderville. Police said she smelled like alcohol. She was put through a series of field sobriety tests and then arrested.
