Drunken Bloody Brawl Between Brothers Leads to Arrests: Solon Police Blotter
Officers also dealt with a fight between drivers after an accident, a theft from Marc's, and a drunk driver with a firearm.

SOLON, OH - This week's police blotter includes a bloody brawl between brothers at the Springhill Suites, two drunk drivers, and the standard issue, weekly theft from a local grocery store.
Disorderly Conduct, SR 91: On September 29th at 8:40 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of SR 91 north of Solon Road for a motor vehicle accident and subsequent fight between the involved drivers. The 26 year old driver of unit 1 from Broadview Heights attempted to merge into the right northbound lane of SR 91 and failed to yield, striking unit 2. The driver of unit 2 exited his car and approached the driver of unit 1, attempting to strike him as he was exiting his vehicle. James Junkin, 35 of Bainbridge, was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct; the driver of the other vehicle was issued a citation for Failure to Yield.
Improper Handling of a Firearm, Enterprise Parkway: Tracy Madden, 30 of Oakwood Village, was stopped on Sept. 30 on Enterprise Parkway after officers discovered she was wanted by Maple Heights. She was arrested for the warrant and, during the inventory of her car, a loaded 9mm handgun was found in the glovebox. An open container of alcohol was also found under the driver’s seat. Madden was charged with Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Having an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and held on the warrant for Maple Heights.

Theft, Marc’s: Officers responded to Marc’s, 6231 S.O.M. Center Road, on Sept. 30 for a theft that had been caught on video surveillance. Officers learned that an employee had stolen $698.70 worth of cigarettes the previous night at 9:45 p.m. after the store had closed. On October 1st Demario Harmon, 19 of Cleveland, was arrested at Marc’s before beginning his shift; he was taken to jail where he was held on bond.
Carrying a Concealed Weapon, US 422: An officer stopped a vehicle on the US 422 entrance ramp from SR 91 northbound for dark tinted windows on September 30th at 6:35 p.m. The driver of the car Dennis Walker 37 of Cleveland, was found to be under suspension, as well as have two active warrants for his arrest. He was charged with Driving under Suspension, No Safety Belt, and Excessive Window Tint. The back seat passenger Dennis Walker, 19 of Cleveland, was found to be carrying a loaded 9mm handgun and was arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The owner of the car and front seat passenger, Lakeisha Smith, 37 of Warrensville Heights, was charged with Wrongful Entrustment.

Disorderly Conduct, Springhill Suites: On October 2nd at 2:49 a.m. officers responded to Springhill Suites, 30100 Aurora Road, for a disturbance in room 328. Two individuals were waiting for the officers outside of the motel, and they expressed to officers that they were intoxicated and had gotten into a fight with their brother, who remained in room 328 and was highly intoxicated. The brother, Kevin Baird 30 of Chardon, was found outside of the room bleeding from his nose, highly intoxicated, and unable to care for himself. Solon Fire and Rescue was called to examine Baird, after which he was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and taken to jail.
Theft, Summit Street: A 23-year-old Solon resident reported $800 stolen from her car between midnight and 6:24 a.m on Oct. 3. while parked overnight at her Summit Street residence. The car was not locked.
