Drunken Driver Hits Car In Solon, Drives Away

Police said the driver blew a .212 on a breath test. The legal limit in Ohio is .08.

SOLON, OH — A driver hit a car in Solon and then sped off last week. Police said the driver was dangerously intoxicated.

The accident happened at 7:40 p.m. on September 28. Chagrin Valley Dispatch told Solon police a car had struck the back of another car on Solon Road and then continued driving.

The driver of the hit car followed the other car into Macedonia. The driver called police and gave them updates on where the vehicle was heading.

Macedonia police found the car in their city. The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Aurora, appeared to be intoxicated, according to police.

The woman became visibly upset while talking to police and kept asking if she had hurt anyone. She smelled of alcohol, police said. Officers decided not to put her through field sobriety tests, but took her into custody and drove her to the Solon Correction Center.
