Drunken Man Parked Running Car Behind Solon Office Max: Police
Police said they spotted the vehicle after 11 p.m. on a Friday night.
SOLON, OH — A running car parked behind the Solon Office Max at 11 p.m. caught the eye of police on April 12.
The patrolling officer that saw the car decided to investigate. There was a man in the driver's seat and the keys were in the ignition of the car. The man in the driver's seat said he was waiting to collect a relative from a church down the road.
While talking to the man, the officer smelled alcohol inside the vehicle. There appeared to be a drinking glass in the car's center console and there was a liquid inside the glass, police said.

The man denied drinking any alcohol. The officer called for back-up and when the two officers again approached the vehicle, the glass from the center console was gone. The man said he had thrown the glass on the floor.
The man was asked to get out of the car and was put through a series of field sobriety tests. As the man was getting out of the car, police saw an open bottle of vodka poking out from beneath the driver's seat, police said.
