Emergency Repairs Could Cause Discolored Water In Chagrin Falls

The Cleveland Water Department made emergency repairs to a water main in Euclid, causing possible discoloration in eastern suburbs.

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH — The Cleveland Water Department made emergency repairs to a water main in Euclid Wednesday night. The resulting work could cause discolored water for a number of eastern suburbs, including Chagrin Falls.

The department said the water is safe to drink and use for most normal purposes. However, residents are advised to refrain from doing laundry. There is no need to boil water.

In a post on Facebook, Cleveland Water said the discolored water could occur over the next few days.

Crews are shutting down a 54-inch steel transmission main on Highland and Georgetown Road in Euclid. The discoloration, Cleveland Water said, results from a sudden change in the direction the water is flowing.

While crews work on repairing the transmission main in Euclid, additional crews will be monitoring other areas for discolored water.
