Employee Threatened Manager, Coworker At Solon Business

SOLON, OH — Unruly employees caused criminal issues at two Solon businesses this month. One temporary employee threatened his boss and a coworker, while a grocery store worker reportedly tried to steal merchandise.

Menacing, October 4 — The general manager of the Wayne Dalton Sales Center reported that a temp agency employee had threatened him and another of his full-time employees. An arrest warrant for menacing has been issued for the Cleveland teenager that allegedly made the threats.

Theft, October 5 — An employee attempted to steal about $20 in merchandise by stuffing it in a red and black duffel bag, a loss prevention officer at Marc's said. The employee, a 23-year-old from Cleveland, was arrested and charged with theft.

Assault, October 6 — An unruly prisoner at Solon Jail kicked a corrections officer, injuring her hand. The prisoner has been charged with assault, police said.

Carrying Concealed Weapons, October 10 — An officer on patrol stopped a car that appeared to not have a rear license plate. The car did have a temporary tag in the rear window, but the registered owner had an arrest warrant. The officer noticed the smell of marijuana wafting from the car and small amounts of weed were found inside the vehicle. Police also found a loaded .380 handgun in the center console. The driver, a Bedford man, was arrested and charged with carrying concealed weapons, driving under suspension, and drug abuse.
