Emphasis on technique, turnout, alignment, combination work, choreography; ballet/jazz; stretching and strengthening; performance.Β (Graduates of Ballet I & those coming with previous experience.)

Dancers will enjoy this interactive class that builds on basic movements learned in the 4's Ballet/Tap combination class but is still appropriate for first-time dancers. Jazz class includes an introduction to proper warm-ups and stretches for the body combined with across-the-floor progressions and mini combinations. The Tap portion of the class will concentrate on building confidence through mastering more difficult patterns and steps. The Ballet portion of class includes an introduction to the ballet barre and learning more challenging steps.ο»Ώ Β

Beginning Ballet

It's never too late to start!Β Basic ballet for the older beginner working on the positions of the feet; connecting steps, simple combinations;Β stretching.Β This class is by placement only and is meant for older beginners.Β Dancers learn the basics without being in a class with small children.
Ballet/Jazz/Tap Combo
(ages 4 - 6)
Dancers will enjoy this interactive class that builds on basic movements land is appropriate for first-time dancers or for young dancers wanting to try other styles of dance for the first time. It's never too late (or early) to become a "hoofer"! Class is designed to be fun while teaching tap skills.Β It is one of the oldest dance forms.Β Rhythm, musicality and coordination are a few of the many benefits of tap dancing.Β Patterns progressions, various tempos and combinations are taught both at the the barre and center floor.Β Tap dance will increase agility, reflexes, stamina and mental clarity.Β Tap class is also a great cardiovascular workout and stress buster and helps tone muscles!

Born in the early 20th century, modern dance is a dance style that centers on a dancer's own interpretations instead of structured steps, as in traditional ballet dancing, modern dancers reject the limitations of classical ballet and favor movements derived from the expression of their inner feelings.

Choreography/Composition Class
Grades 6+
Do you admire George Balanchine , Martha Graham or Bob Fosse?Β Or more current choreographers like Sonya Tayeh, Tyce Diorio or Mia Michaels?Β This class is designed to teach our dancers how to develop their own choreography and will only be a summer offering. Choreography/Composition class students will learn a brief dance history lesson, create a relating in class composition assignment, and then students will take home a choreography assignment to present the following week.Β Each day the dancers will learn tricks and tips for designing choreography.Β The dancer will then create a short solo to perform the next day. Although this camp is designed for the dancer with some experience, it will not be a high pressure environment. We will encourage each dancer's creativity.ο»Ώ

BEGINNER HIP HOP
HipΒ Hop isΒ an urban style of dance that has come to be well respected in theΒ dance community.Β If you want your child to be well rounded in their developing movement, then this class isΒ a MUST.Β Kept atΒ an introduction/beginner level, they will be slowly introduced to various hip hop styles, isolations, across the floor exercises, and routines that will attempt to pull it altogether in a fun and exhilaratingΒ way that will make them excited to learn more.
