NOVEMBER BALLOT ISSUE 2 FORUM

          NOVEMBER BALLOT ISSUE DISCUSSED

Should Ohio voters approve Issue 2?   If Issue 2 passes, a citizen commission to redistrict the state would be appointed and be unaccountable to Ohio taxpayers
and elected representatives.

Voters First Ohio wants to take the process of redistricting out of the hands of our elected representatives as they believe it will make it non-partisan.   Protect Your
Vote Ohio 2012 opposes the amendment (Issue 2)  because commission members would be unelected and unaccountable to Ohio voters,  cannot be removed for ten years and allows the commission a blank check from the taxpayers to spend whatever money it wants with no limits or budget.

Labor unions including the AFL-CIO and SEIU spent        $2 million to get this issue on the ballot.
The Ohio Bar Association strongly opposes this ballot issue because it puts decisions in the hands of judges on the Ohio Court of Appeals and not our elected representatives and Ohio voters.
