From the Solon Chamber of Commerce: Solon Chamber of Commerce announces a special program speaker for the January Luncheon Meeting, Don Cockroft, January 16, 2018 at 11:30 a.m., Signature of Solon, 39000 Signature Drive Solon. Meet Don Cockroft, a former American football punter and placekicker who played thirteen seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and has the third most career points for a Brown. Cockroft is considered the last double-duty kicker in the NFL.
At this luncheon he will take you back to the games and events that led up to the never-to-be forgotten season of 1980. And who can forget the game nicknamed Red Right 88? Don Cockroft, who serves as a loan consultant with Willoughby Mortgage can answer the questions as to what really happened on that frozen day in January.
