Fraudulent Checks Get Woman Arrested In Solon
The woman bought $560 of merchandise from a local store and then returned the items. Problem is, she paid with a bad check.

SOLON, OH — A local clothing store was ripped off when a customer used a fake check to purchase, and later return, merchandise. The deception cost the store $560, Solon Police said.
The theft happened August 27. A 53-year-old Bedford woman came into UpscaleIt, on Aurora Road, and bought $560 of merchandise. She paid by check, providing an Ohio ID card to the staff.
The woman came back later and returned all of the merchandise. She said her husband had forgotten to put enough money in the account.

Except, here's the problem. Another business owner contacted UpscaleIt and said the woman had also come to their store and given the same story. The account number of the woman's check was not valid. The check was fraudulent, police said.
Solon Police were able to track the woman down and arrest her. She's been charged with passing bad checks.
