Garfield Heights Man Accused Of Trafficking Heroin

And the Southeast Area Law Enforcement Task Force, which includes Solon Police, helped catch the suspect.

SOLON, OH — A Garfield Heights man has been indicted in federal court for dealing heroin and carfentanil and using a gun while dealing. Delamar Williams was arrested in Oct. 2017 allegedly with a mixture of carfentanil and heroin in his possession.

The Department of Justice said that Williams was arrested Oct. 19, 2017 with 55.2 grams of a carfentanil and heroin mixture. He also allegedly had a 9 mm SCCY CPX-2 pistol in his possession.

The DOJ said the gun found on Williams was connected to his drug trafficking. It was also forbidden for the 36-year-old Williams to have a gun because he has numerous prior convictions for drug trafficking, the indictment against says.

Williams was indicted on one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin and carfentanil, one count of using a firearm in relation to drug trafficking and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors want a forfeiture of the gun, as well as $81,587 in cash that was seized during the investigation. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Southeast Area Law Enforcement Task Force, which is made up of officers from Bedford, Bedford Heights, Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, Solon, Oakwood and Walton Hills Police Departments.
