Gun, Suspected Weed Found During Solon Traffic Stop

Police said they found four bags of suspected marijuana after a traffic stop.

SOLON, OH — Police found a loaded gun and suspected marijuana in a car stopped on Cochran Road last week. Officers said they also found a measuring scale in the vehicle.

Police stopped a car just before noon on Cochran for committing two traffic violations. When officers approached the car, the driver only opened his rear window slightly. As the glass slid down, a strong smell of marijuana wafted from the car, police said.

The driver handed over his license. However, police discovered the license was suspended and the driver had a suspended weapons permit. When confronted, the driver denied having any drugs or weapons in the car.

Once outside of his car, the driver said he had a gun on him. Police found a loaded gun on his hip. Officers then searched the car and found three additional bags of suspected marijuana inside the car, along with measuring scales.
