Gun Waving Man Arrested In Solon On New Year's Day

Police said the man was intoxicated and waving a gun around after an argument with his girlfriend.

SOLON, OH — A New Year's Day argument between a couple nearly got wildly out of control when a man got his gun from his car and began waving it around.

The fight started on Overland Lane. Police were called to the scene after a caller said they saw a man waving a gun.

When officers arrived they saw three men around a vehicle. One of the men explained that there had been an argument between a 24-year-old Cleveland resident and his girlfriend. The two were extremely intoxicated, the man told police.

When the argument escalated, the Cleveland man went to his car, pulled his gun from the vehicle, and began waving it around. The police were then called to the scene.

The Cleveland man was arrested for improperly handling a firearm and using a weapon while intoxicated, police said.
