Gunfire On July 4th: Solon Police Investigating
After numerous reports of gunshots on Independence Day came in, officers began to gather evidence.

SOLON, OH — Police are investigating gunshots heard during the July 4th celebration in Community Park. Callers reported hearing gunshots during the fireworks, near the grand finale. A large group of attendees reportedly panicked during the celebration.
Police say they received calls claiming someone had shot a handgun twice, in the area behind the log cabin. Initially, officers were unable to corroborate the reports. No victims initially came forward and there were no witnesses to provide a description of suspects.
After a bleak start, officers gathered witness statements and unearthed video footage from private citizens and county-loaned surveillance cameras. With the new evidence, it was determined that gunshots were fired on the night of July 4th.
