The worker's manager told police she suspected the employee convinced a patient with dementia to write her a $1,000 check.

SOLON, OH — Police are looking for a home health worker that convinced an elderly patient with dementia to writer her a check for $1,000.
The incident was only reported last Friday, but actually may have occurred in mid-October. The manager of the home health care agency came into the Solon Police Department at about 9 a.m. to say she was suspicious of a former employee.
The manager said that she had asked a 24-year-old employee to fill in for the regular caregiver of a Briarwood Lane resident. The patient suffered from dementia, police reported.

In an unrelated incident on Wednesday, BMW Cleveland, on Kruse Drive, were ripped off by a fake check.
A customer bought tires for his vehicle and wrote what appeared to be a $581 check for the goods. The check bounced because the bank could not locate the listed account.
After a short investigation, it was determined all of the information on the check — the name of the suspect, the driver's license number, and the phone number — were all fictitious. The detective bureau is investigating the theft.
