"The annual maintenance is important to maintain our hydrants and to help ensure they are ready for emergencies. Please avoid doing laundry on the days we are flushing in your neighborhood as the water may discolor for a few hours. Even the discolored water is safe to drink," the city said in a statement.
A list of frequently asked questions — like what to do if water is discolor or water pressure fluctuates — has been shared on the city's website.
