Identity Thief Stole Car In Solon: Police
While masquerading as another person, the suspect was able to purchase a $15,000 BMW.

SOLON, OH —A $15,000 BMW was stolen when a Bedford man posed as another person and purchased the car, using a fake application. Officers discovered the victim of the identity theft knew who had impersonated him.
A 34-year-old Bedford man was arrested this week after police identified him as the thief of both the car and a person's identity. The man is being held in Cuyahoga County Jail on similar but unrelated charges, Solon Police said. Investigators have asked for a direct indictment of the man through the county.
Police said the stolen car was a 2013 BMW, valued at $15,076, with a $1,500 down payment. An arrangement for financing was also made. It was only after the sale that employees at the auto group realized they'd been duped with a fake application.
