Improper Plates, Loose Guns Get Woman Arrested in Solon
Police found a .380 handgun stashed beneath the driver's seat. The woman also had two active arrest warrants out.

SOLON, OH — Loose guns got a West Farmington woman arrested in Solon last week. The woman had improper license plates and active arrest warrants from Geauga County and Lordstown. You can read more about that incident and others below.
Improper Handling of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, US 422: Police stopped a car on US 422 for improperly displaying it license plates. While attempting to get an accurate plate reading, the officer saw the vehicle swerve into another lane and cause another vehicle to take evasive action. Police eventually determined that the driver of the vehicle with improper plates had two active arrest warrants and the vehicle was stopped. Shasta Price, 45 of West Farmington, was charged with Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle for a loaded .380 handgun found under the passenger seat, Receiving Stolen Property for the handgun which was found to be stolen, and she was held on the warrant from Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and the warrant from Lordstown Village Police. A passenger, Dontae Styles 34 of Maple Heights, was issued a citation for Marijuana Possession.
Theft, Highland Drive: The Internet is a dangerous place. A 35-year-old Solon resident found that out when she contacted a help line she found on the web. The representative on the hotline told the woman she could buy a $500 iTunes gift card, which she did, and then give the money to the hotline worker. The victim is trying to get some of her money back by working with her bank.

OVI, Richmond Road: Police stopped Damien Cleveland, 38 of Garfield Heights, after watching him repeatedly drift over the dividing line on Solon Road. When he turned south onto Richmond Road, Cleveland couldn't stay in his lane. Police say his eyes were red and glassy and he had slurred speech. Field sobriety tests confirmed Cleveland's impairment and he was arrested and taken to jail. He submitted a .089 breath test. He was charged with OVI, Prohibited BAC, and Driving in Marked Lanes.
Theft, Planet Fitness: While checking on her membership at the Planet Fitness, 33605 Aurora Road, a woman's cell phone was stolen from her car. The car had been left unlocked.
