Intoxicated Driver Flips Car On US 422 In Solon

A possibly drunk man crashed his car on US 422 east, flipping his vehicle, and being thrown onto the road. The man survived the crash.

SOLON, OH — Solon has seen some devastating and deadly car accidents over the past two weeks. On July 1, a man nearly died after flipping his car and being ejected from the vehicle. Read on for more information on that incident and others from the past weeks.

Theft, June 29 - After eating at Chipotle, 33599 Aurora Rd., a 20-year-old Seven Hills resident realized he had lost his debit card. He returned to the restaurant and asked employees if they had found his card. When an employee said they had and went to retrieve the card, it was missing. The Seven Hills man then found that numerous unauthorized charges had been made using his debit card. The detective bureau will be following up on the crime.

OVI, July 1 - Police were called to the scene of an accident on US 422. They arrived and found Johnny Woodson, 23, of Euclid, laying on his back, surrounded by other motorists. He had been traveling east on US 422 when he drove off the left side of the freeway, into the media, went airborne, and flipped over several times. Woodson was ejected from the car. He was rushed to MetroHealth for treatment. Woodson spoke to police before being sent to the hospital, and there was an odor of alcohol on his breath. He was issued citations for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under suspension, and failure to control. Other charges are pending lab results.

Assisting Other Agency, July 1 - Officers were called to the Solon Police Department Lobby at 11:35 p.m. on July 1 for reports of a man who had been stabbed. The victim, a 28-year-old from Bedford Heights, said he had been in a fight in Chagrin Falls, at the BP Gas Station. That fight led to him getting stabbed. His friend, who was with him at the time of the incident, tried to take him to the St. Vincent Medical building in Solon, but discovered it was no longer an emergency room. The duo decided to come to Solon Police Department instead. The male was transported to the ER and Chagrin Falls police were notified of the incident and responded.
