Intoxicated Man Creeps On Solon Home, Allows Dog To Attack Police
The man, who had a dog with him, tried to gain entry into a home on Glenallen Avenue. The owner called police. The animal attacked officers.

SOLON, OH — A woman on Glenallen Avenue got a shock on Sept. 11 when a man with a German Shepherd tried to gain access into her home. She called police around 7:35 p.m. and officers rushed to the residence.
Officers found a 53-year-old Solon man standing in the driveway of the home. His dog was next to him, unleashed.
The man ignored questions from officers and instead opened the passenger door of a car in the driveway and got inside. The car belonged to the resident, not the man, police later learned. The unleashed dog became aggressive and police tried to get the man to leash the animal. The man initially refused but eventually restrained the dog.
But the restraints would not hold. The man was asked to put the dog into the back of a patrol car, but he refused, instead walking the dog back up the woman's driveway. The dog then lunged at an officer. The man fell on the front steps of the home, losing control of the animal.

Officers corralled the animal using a protective suit and an animal snare.
The interloper was then arrested. He was determined to be intoxicated and was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, menacing and allowing a dog to be at large. The animal was taken to a local kennel to be held.
