Leaf Collection Starting Soon In Solon
While scorching hot temperatures may have induced temporary amnesia, typical fall weather will arrive in Northeast Ohio.

SOLON, OH — Curbside leaf collection will start in Solon on Oct. 16. Leaves must be placed three feet from the curb. City crews will then circle around the city several times a week.
"When placing leaves out for collection they should be raked into a windrow and placed close to but not in the roadway. No brush, small branches or other materials should be mixed in with leaf piles as this material will clog and damage the leaf collection equipment and slow down the collection process," the city said on Facebook.
The collection program requires that leaves never be placed in the street. The city said on Facebook that leaves in the street can lead to clogged storm drains and can create a danger to motorists. There will be no daily schedule for leaf collection. The city said the large volume of leaves falling daily prevents a stringent routine.
The leaf collection program will end Dec. 22. After that point, residents will need to collect the leaves in brown craft yard waste bags and placed out for collection on normal trash collection days.
