Man Runs From Police In Solon, Had 24 Grams Of Weed In His Shorts
Police said the man was a passenger in a car that was stopped for changing lanes without using a turn signal.

SOLON, OH — More than 24 grams of marijuana were found during a traffic stop in Solon, police said. The passenger in the car, a 21-year-old from Cleveland, also allegedly ran from police when his car was stopped.
Solon Police said they saw a car changing lanes on US 422 without signaling. The car was also reportedly drifting between lanes. Officers stopped the car near Cochran Road.
As an officer approached the car, the passenger jumped out and started running, police said. While fleeing, the Cleveland man slipped and fell, giving officers plenty of time to arrest him.

Police searched the man and found 24.5 grams of marijuana and a digital scale in his shorts. The car was then searched and officers found a loaded handgun under the front passenger seat. A cup of clear alcohol was in the center console cup holder, police said.
The driver reportedly smelled like alcohol and field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired. He was arrested and taken to Solon Jail. He blew a .060 on a breath test. He also provided a urine sample that will be tested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol lab.

The driver has been charged with possession of marijuana, open container, operating a vehicle impaired, no seatbelt, no turn signal, and marked lanes. A passenger in the car, a 21-year-old from Cleveland, has been charged with possession of drugs, possession of paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
