Missing Teen Found In Solon, Man Arrested For Giving Her Beer

SOLON, OH — Police believe two men hosted a missing 15-year-old girl at Solon Motel, for weeks, giving her beer and marijuana. One of the men has been arrested, Solon Police said, and he has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police were called to the motel last Friday, at about 9:30 p.m., for reports of a disturbance being caused by two women. Officers went to the room where the disturbance was coming from and a man opened the door.

When the door was opened, there was a strong smell of marijuana, police said. The man who greeted officers was "highly intoxicated" and had several warrants for his arrest. He was briefly taken into police custody, but was released on the scene.

There were two other people in the room, another man and a woman. All three people denied there being a second female with them.

Investigators discovered the woman was actually a missing 15-year-old, from Cleveland. Solon Police arranged for her to be taken to Cuyahoga County Family and Children Services.

The other man, a 36-year-old from Cleveland, had rented the room and had kept the teenager with him for approximately two weeks, police said. There was beer and remnants of marijuana inside the motel room. Witnesses said the man had taken the teenager to the Crossroads bar on multiple occasions and bought beer for her.

The man was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Detectives are still investigating.
