Mitchell's Ice Cream Re-Opens In Solon
"This isn't just an ice cream store, it's a community gathering place," said Mayor Ed Kraus during the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

SOLON, OH — The Mitchell's Ice Cream store on Kruse Drive is officially re-opened for business. The store has been closed since late January for renovations and construction.
The shop re-opened on May 22 with a ceremonial ribbon cutting that included Solon Mayor Ed Kraus and founders of Mitchell's, Pete and Mike Mitchell. "This is not just an ice cream store, it's a community gathering place," Kraus told a small crowd. "That's what makes it so special."
The mayor joked that his son and his friends had been asking him to just "flip the switch" and make Mitchell's re-open. He said thousands of kids in the neighborhood had been waiting for the store to re-open, particularly with baseball season in full-swing.
