MPP Closing Solon Plant, 55 Employees To Be Laid Off
The company is moving its operations to its Noblesville, Indiana headquarters. The Solon location will close around December 1.

SOLON, OH — MPP is closing its Solon operations and laying off 55 workers, according to a document filed with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.
MPP runs its metal injection molding operations out of a facility at 31005 Solon Road. That complex will be shuttered and moved to the company's global headquarters in Noblesville. An unspecified number of Solon staffers may be transferred to the company's Noblesville, Indiana headquarters, a company spokesperson told Patch.
Layoffs are scheduled to start on or around December 1 of this year, according to the ODJFS document. Each employee at the plant should have received a letter about the pending closure.

The Solon location was previously NetShape, which was acquired by MPP in February 2018. Leaders of both companies said the acquisition was a perfect complement and expanded MPP's footprint.
“MPP and NetShape are a perfect fit from a business perspective,” said Dax Whitehouse, CEO of NetShape, at the time. “The two businesses strongly complement each other, and we look forward to building upon our respective strengths.”
MPP was acquired by capital firm Mill Point Capital in 2016, after experiencing a record year in 2015.
