Mustard Seed Closing Solon Location This Month
The store has been part of the Solon community for nearly two decades, but will shutter October 30.

SOLON, OH — The Mustard Seed in Solon will close October 30, the company's CEO announced Thursday. The organic foods store has been part of the community for two decades.
"When my family opened the Solon store, we had high expectations. It was the largest natural foods grocery store east of the Mississippi, and the natural foods industry was having double digit growth. Unfortunately, the store did not develop as we had hoped and today with the increased competition both in brick and mortar stores as well as online, our time has come," said Gabe Nabors, Mustard Seed's CEO.
Over the next two weeks, Mustard Seed Solon will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. An inventory reduction sale will be held.

"My family wishes to give a sincere thank you to our Solon staff, the Solon community and to the thousands of customers that helped us these past 20 years to push health foods to the mainstream," Nabors said.
Customers and fans of the Solon Mustard Seed location took to social media to express their dismay. "I live in Solon and as a vegan this is my go to spot for all of Mr. Lee’s amazing vegan food. I am so sad to see this leave. I’m not sure where I will drive to now when I don’t want to cook," one person said on Facebook.
