New Board Of Education Member Announced In Solon

A parent with a bevy of volunteer experience in the district will join the Solon Board of Education this month.

SOLON, OH — Leanne Jones will be the new member of the Solon Board of Education, the school district announced this week. Jones will replace longtime Board member Margo Morrow, who resigned on July 3.

Jones' addition to the Board was approved unanimously during the July 18 Board of Education meeting. She beat out a pool of 30 other applicants to land the position. Jones will serve in her new role until January 1, 2020. Her seat will be open for re-election in the November 2019 general election.

“As a result of Mrs. Morrow’s resignation, the Board was eager to fill this gap with a knowledgeable and experienced individual, who ideally has had a long-standing relationship with the Solon Schools,” said Solon Board of Education President Julie Glavin. “It was our goal to appoint someone who could hit the ground running and have an immediate impact. We were fortunate to have so many great and thoughtful applicants, but after meaningful and reflective deliberation, we felt that Leanne Jones best fit the immediate need.”
