New Solon State Rep, Phil Robinson, Sworn In
Robinson swung Ohio House District 6 for Democrats, after term-limited Rep. Marlene Anielski was ousted from office.

SOLON, OH — Solon's new state representative, Phil Robinson, took his office on Monday after a swearing in ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse.
“Working families across Ohio are ready for a change, and to be a part of that change here at the People’s House is truly an honor,” said the newly minted Rep. Robinson. “Now it’s time to get down to business and work together—as Democrats and Republicans—to improve the lives of everyday Ohioans.”
Robinson defeated Republican Jim Trakas in November, swinging the seat blue after it was held by term-limited Republican Marlene Anielski. The Ohio House 6th District includes Solon, Mayfield, Moreland Heights, Independence, Walton Hills, Oakewood and Brecksville, among other cities and villages.

Robinson ran on a multi-pronged platform of support for education and his district's workers. He said he wants to make college more affordable, improve investment in public education, hold private and for-profit charter schools accountable, and improve access to job training programs.
