Night Out In Solon Set For Aug. 1

The event will engage children and adults on crime prevention and other safety tactics.

SOLON, OH — The annual Solon National Night Out event will be held August 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Solon Community Center, 35000 Portz Pkwy. The police department leads the event and will feature a variety of games, food, exhibits, and other fun activities, as well as a crime prevention and safety fair to help residents keep their homes and neighborhoods safe.

Among the bevy of activities designed for the whole family, is the Dunk a Cop water tank, that allows residents to send an officer spilling into a vat of water. There will also be SWAT vehicles, the K9 unit, and other police units on-hand for exhibits and learning sessions. The city said on its website that police hope to engage adults during the crime prevention sessions, while children enjoy activities like bounce houses and and other playground-like areas.
